Maritime Park

In 2006, Pensacola voters approved a vision for Community Maritime Park that included far more than a baseball stadium. It included a world-class Maritime Museum, UWF research and education facilities, public waterfront access, parks, and gathering spaces that would celebrate our city's rich maritime heritage.

The museum was never intended to be a traditional collection of artifacts behind glass. It was envisioned as a living destination where families could explore maritime history, marine science, archaeology, naval heritage, and Pensacola Bay through interactive exhibits and hands-on learning.

While many pieces of Community Maritime Park have been built, one of its most important promises remains unfinished.

I served on the Community Maritime Park Associates Board because I believed in that original vision, and I still do. It's time to finish what Pensacola started.
