The Ann Plan arises from my love for Pensacola and my belief that city government should never lose sight of the people it serves.
Pensacola is where generations of my family built their lives. My husband’s parents met under the brick arches of the downtown USO. His father worked on aircraft at NAS Pensacola, and his grandfather built wooden boats and sold fresh seafood beneath the old Theo Baars Drawbridge.
Those stories are part of the reason I care so deeply about protecting Pensacola’s maritime culture, fishing community, and the natural beauty of a city shaped by our bays and bayous.
My children attended Pensacola schools, and raising them here showed me how important it is for young people to have positive activities and places to go. Some of our family’s best memories were made at local ballfields, museums, parks, pools, and out on the water.
Lately, it feels like some local leaders have forgotten how important those basic quality-of-life services are. When parks close and public spaces are neglected, we feel it in our everyday lives.
As Mayor, I will focus on bringing government back to the basics by restoring trust in city services, investing in neighborhoods and public spaces, and making City Hall work for everyone again.
